My name is Christina Tullo, and I love to design websites. I cut my teeth as a graphic designer growing up in northern New Jersey on my parents’ Gateway 2000 PC, designing covers for mix tapes in Photoshop 5.0 in the late ’90s. Growing up, I always enjoyed mechanical drawing and architectural drawing classes in high school, and nearly majored in architecture before realizing what I truly enjoyed was working on a computer all day, creating. I graduated from Ramapo College of New Jersey with two degrees: A Bachelor of Arts with a major of Communications, and a specialization in Graphic Design, and a Bachelor of Arts with a major of Visual Arts, with a specialization of Photography. That’s a mouthful, isn’t it? 🙂
While in college, I interned for the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, doing simple things such as typesetting postcards and flyers. I eventually moved on to the newspaper industry, designing ads and laying out pages for a handful of weekly local papers before moving on to the nuclear medical equipment industry, where I stayed for eight years with Capintec, Inc., a great company which is now one of my regular freelance clients. While working at Capintec, I taught myself HTML and CSS, and a little bit of Joomla, before going back to school for a Web Development Certification. I taught myself WordPress, and swear by it to this day.
Currently I work in Hoboken as a Graphic Designer for Triad Media Solutions, a Fortune 500 company in lead generation for higher education, and I have a thriving freelance side business as a Web & Graphic Designer. In my spare time I enjoy photography, craft beer, horror movies and hanging out on the recliner with my dog, Ripley.
